Professional English II


Syllabus

Students read, write, and verbally report on a selected topic from the field of transport technology and logistics. Through reading academic and professional texts they develop their knowledge of subject-specific terminology, including multi-word units. They identify and use EAP (English for Academic Purposes) vocabulary. They make weekly written and oral reports on their readings.

Goals and competencies

The course aims to reach/develop the following objectives/competences:

  • broader understanding of the field of transport technology and logistics in English,
  • understanding of a selected topic within the broader field of transport technology and logistics through English language resources,
  • finding relevant resources in print and digital databases,
  • preparing researched essays,
  • identification and use of subject-specific terminology,
  • identification and use of EAP vocabulary,
  • presentation of researched essays,
  • discussion.
