Syllabus

Content from the sample program 7.02:

 

• Cooling devices, use of cooling devices, theoretical basis of operation, new refrigerants and their properties, and the choice of refrigerants.

• Maintenance of refrigeration appliances. detection of causes and elimination of consequences, insulation of refrigerated spaces, defrosting, guidelines for determining capacity and selection of refrigerating devices.

• Physical changes in foods during cooling and freezing, crystallization, freezing and changing moisture content and loss of weight, cooling time,

• Operation of individual cooling components: compressor, evaporator, condenser, damping element and auxiliary devices,

• Various versions of cooling appliances

• Circular processes of cooling devices: one-stage, two-stage and three-stage

• Cooling system in the supercritical coolant area

• Evaluation of cooling processes

• Monitoring devices.

• Regulations of refrigeration appliances

• Absorption cooling devices

• Heat pumps,

• Solar cooling, air cooling, steam cooling, thermoelectric cooling

• Thermoacoustic cooling, cooling with hybrid metal

• Transportation of refrigerated cargo and cargo operations

Goals and competencies

Students should study the theoretical basics of the operation of the ship's cooling equipment. They learn about the specific embodiments of ship cooling systems, advantages and disadvantages of their operation, maintenance and elimination of operational disruptions. They are familiar with the regulations concerning selection, installation and maintenance of these machines and devices.
