Mathematics for engineers 2


Syllabus

1.    Differential equations: separated variables, LDE of 1st order, LDE of 2nd order, applications.
2.    Functions of several variables: partial derivatives, maxima and minima, Lagrange multipliers for maxima and minima, implicit function.
3.    Vectors: basics, scalar, cross and triple product, lines and planes.
4.    Linear algebra:  systems of linear  
equations, Gauss elimination, determinants, Cramer’s rule, matrices.

Goals and competencies

On successful completion of this module students will be able of abstract thinking. Moreover, they will get mathematical fundamentals for other professional courses.
