Syllabus

Energy resources, resource constraints, oil and gas, alternative sources. Natural laws of energy conversion, efficiency margins and comparison of energy consumption for transport with various means of transport. The impact of fossil fuels on the atmosphere.

Hydrogen Period, Production, Transport, Distribution and Storage of Hydrogen on-board. Fuel cells, hybrid and electric vehicles. Principles and operation of individual sets of means of transport, matching engine performance with needs. Vehicle development directions.

Reducing fuel consumption. Exhaust emissions and measures to reduce them.

Driving resistors. Maintenance technology for transport vehicles. The role and importance of engineering work in technological, economic and organizational measures to improve the business of transport companies.

Goals and competencies

To increase the general technical knowledge of means of transport, energy sources for drives in transport, to define the natural limits of conversions, to know the modern technology of transport means and the direction of development of environmentally and energetically acceptable means of transport.
