Basics of Traffic Flow Theory
Syllabus
- Vehicle in traffic (braking, headway, overtaking, lane changing)
- Homogeneous traffic flow (density and volume, relation of density and volume, optimum speed)
- Traffic flow properties (point and area measurement, empirical models)
- Vehicle following theory (basic models, stability)
- Continuous traffic flow models (fundamental equation, congestion)
