Goals and competencies

In this course, student gets some basic chemical knowledge in order to understand processes and measures in different fields of  technology in maritime area. Student is informed about the production of oil products from oil, their use, as well as the use of water on the ship. Student understands basic processes leading to material destruction in the sea, forms of destruction and the decrease in its commercial value. Objectives and competences also consist of basic methods of corrosion and biological fouling prevention in the sea. Student will become able to use this knowledge while using these materials. Student will be able to use the knowledge about the material destruction and its prevention during his/her practical work.
