Syllabus

Technological reasons for digitization and outline situation in the case of vehicle navigation. Automated systems in traffic, smart and autonomous vehicles. Detection as the core of smart infrastructures, autonomy, monitoring of their own integrity. Using the IoT in traffic. Digitized infrastructure in passengers and goods traffic brings internet of vehicles. Control and management of intelligent devices. The role of smart infrastructure in digital architecture, the key intelligent transport systems of the future. Digital traffic modelling. Integration of infrastructure and a set of services. Smart cities and smart buildings. Connected vehicles in smart city and smart power grids. The security challenges of autonomous systems in the future and their protection.

Goals and competencies

The subject at theoretical and practical level unveils the process of digitalization in traffic systems. As development exploits the latest achievements in all areas of science and technology, it will affect all areas of transport as well as urban development. The course provides basic practical and theoretical knowledge in this field, on the basis of which students will be facilitated to monitor and accept the results of this development.
