Abstract:
Container ships, ro-ro ships and tankers for various products are getting increasingly large so that ports with shallow access channels ending in narrow basins continue to be used in order to have at least enough reserve for berths in inadequately planned ports and piers. The reconstruction and expansion of mooring facilities, such as deepening the port floor, is one of the options for safely addressing this problem. The simulation serves to show the consequences of the new requirements due to changes in ship size and the possible decisions of port authorities to keep up with the changes.
