The Mare Superum project aims to develop a common tourism product based on social and environmental sustainability, preserving and promoting the maritime heritage of the North Adriatic. The main objectives are to increase the visibility of the destination, cross-border cooperation and the involvement of local communities. The project responds to the challenges of mass tourism by developing thematic tourism throughout the year, focusing on the principles of navigation, participation, conservation, construction, maintenance and innovation. Key outputs include new tourist itineraries, the restoration of maritime exhibits, environmental sampling and an online heritage catalogue. The project promotes social inclusion, entrepreneurship and the strengthening of local identity.
