Spoštovani!

Študente vseh doktorskih študijskih programov vabimo k vpisu v predmet Sodobni statistični pristopi, ki se izvaja na interdisciplinarnem doktorskem študijskem programu Statistika v letnem semestru. Namen predmeta, ki je ovrednoten s 5 KT, je pregled sodobnih in temeljnih področij statistike in omogočiti študentom stik s strokovnjaki na teh področjih. Obveznosti pri predmetu so prisotnost (cca. 90 %), pisanje povzetkov in zaključni esej, v katerem morajo študentje razmišljati, kaj od poslušanega bi jim lahko prišlo prav pri doktorski disertaciji ali drugem raziskovanju, s tem da se predmet oceni kot opravil/ni opravil. Vsa predavanja se bodo predvidoma izvajala v angleščini (zagotovo, če bo vpisan vsaj en študent, ki ne govori slovensko) v živo na Fakulteti za družbene vede v drugem semestru, in sicer ob torkih in sredah od 17.15 do 19.45. O izbiri predmeta naj referat članice, na katero je študent/-ka vpisan/-a, obvesti Univerzitetno službo za doktorski študij (doktorski.studij@uni-lj.si).

Dear doctoral students,

We would like to invite all doctoral students to enrol in the course New Developments in Statistics, offered within the interdisciplinary doctoral degree programme Statistics during the spring semester. The course, valued at 5 ECTS, provides an overview of contemporary and fundamental areas of statistics and offers students the opportunity to engage with experts in these fields. Course requirements include attendance (approx. 90%), writing summaries, and preparing a final essay in which students reflect on which of the topics covered may be relevant for their doctoral dissertation or other research work. The course is graded on a pass/fail basis. All lectures are expected to be held in English (certainly if at least one non-Slovene-speaking student enrols), in person at the Faculty of Social Sciences during the spring semester, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5:15 to 7:45. Students should inform the Student Office of their home faculty of their decision to enrol in this course. The Student Office will then notify the University Office for Doctoral Studies (doktorski.studij@uni-lj.si).
